Here's the deal. I defend you... a lot, maybe even more than I should, call it a hometown Midwestern sensibility. I really respect that you would sign up for personal hardship and sacrifice to put your life on the line for others, even if there's a paycheck involved. I know quite a few of you and your brethren from the other branches of the US armed forces, and for the most part, there's a lot to thank you for, and a lot that deserves the respect of the people here who watch with wonder how you can enter an area of the world with naive confidence that your effort can make everything better for the oppressed and disenfranchised there, and by extension the removed and media engaged audience here.
This image has erased all of that for you. You may as well have simply taken off those uniforms and insignia and laid them over the corpses before you let urine fly. My question to you is this: How can you possibly expect foreign citizens, the US media outlets, and, most importantly, the US civilians you are hired to represent on the battlefield, to respect you if you don't even have enough respect for us to realize exactly how this makes all of us look?
Make no mistake about this at all. You weren't pissing on the ideology of the enemy. You were pissing on the ideology of your home.
